| Geographical
Position |
| The
county is located between 36©b 12' and 37©b 07' N and 102©b 36' and
103©b 45' E. It neighbours Gaolan County and Jingtai County in
the east, Ledu County (Qinghai Province) in the west, Honggu District
and Xigu District in the south and Tianzhu Tibetan Autonomous
County in the north. The ancient Silk Road passed through the
county limits and the present New Euro-Asian Continental Bridge
is also running through here. It is 110 km away from the city
proper . |

area has abundant resources of wild animals, including boar, deer,
otter, marmot and roe, and is also rich in tourism resources,
for example, the Tusi (appointed national minority hereditary
headman) Lu's Yamun, which have been in existence since the Ming
Dynasty. Some other ancient buildings left over from that time
are also very attractive to visitors, such as the Gan'Ensi Temple,
Haidesi Temple, Gadasi Temple and Miaoyinsi Temple. There is a
Tulugou Scenery Area, a famous state-class forest park with picturesque
scenes in the county. |

| HISTORICAL
EVOLUTION |
| The
history of the county dates from the neo-stone age, five thousand
years ago. It became a part of the Jincheng Prefecture, the first
administrative structure of present Lanzhou in history. It was
titled "Yongdeng County" in 1928. |
