Province, i.e. the western, eastern and southern lines with Lanzhou
at the centre and the Silk Road as the principal line. Scenic
spots can be chosen and routes can be re-organized according to

from Lanzhou and going westwards along the western line that extends
for 1,148 km, tourists may pay a visit successively to the cities
of Wuwei, Zhangye, Jiayuguan and Dunhuang. This traditional route
is regarded as a hot-line for viewing and appreciating the historic
sites on the Silk Road, fantastic landscape on the Gobi desert
as well as the local cultural features and customs at each specific
