| There
are numerous historic sites and cultural relics as well as scenic
spots in Lanzhou and its adjacent area. The Yellow River runs
through the city proper. Along the Binhelu Road, a "Green Corridor"
at the southern bank of the river, one may enjoy a series of scenery
spots such as the Yellow River, the Water-Wheel Yard, the Statue
of Mother Yellow River and the Zhongshan Iron Bridge. Within the
city proper, tourists may spend a good time in visiting the White
Pagoda Part, the provincial museum and the Five-Spring Park. In
the counties of the city there are some famous scenic spots such
as the Mt. Xinglong, the Yamun of Tusi (national minority hereditary
headman in the ancient time)Lu's and the Tulugou Valley. Transient
at Lanzhou, one may also go to other attractive sites in the adjacent
area for enjoyable visits, e.g. going to the Binglingsi Grottoes
in Yongjing County, the Labuleng Lamasery in Xiahe Tibetan Aunomous
County and the Maijishan Grottoes in Tianshui City within Gansu
Province and further to the Ta'ersi Lamasery in Xining, capital
of Qinghai Province. |
